Make 3D frames with nesting dies ~ Teacher Card Making

Hey there. Welcome to my blog. Here is a creative way to use your nesting dies. Make 3D card frame layers using nesting dies you may already have on hand. It is easier than it may seem and is always well-received. The featured Unity Stamp Company stamps and sentiment are from Beyond The Lesson. To create this card, I used rubber stamping, alcohol markers, patterned paper, arch dies and rectangle dies. I included the project steps and supplies below.

To begin, here is a look at the finished card.

Helpful Tips
Prepare a vertical card base panel using white cardstock, 4 ¼” x 5 ½” folded.
Stamp and color the raccoon onto a large piece of white cardstock using marker-friendly black ink and markers of choice, in shades of tan, brown, yellow, red and green.
Stamp and die-cut the sentiment.
Center and temporarily adhere the rectangle and arch nesting dies to plaid paper, then die-cut to make a frame layer.
Die-cut a yellow arch frame using two arch nesting dies and beeswax cardstock. Then, glue the yellow frame over the open arch window.
Trim down the raccoon layer to be slightly smaller than the plaid frame layer.
Position the raccoon scene behind the patterned paper, yet visible through the arch opening. Then adhere the patterned paper edges over the raccoon layer using narrow foam tape, for a 3D look.
Adhere and layer everything over the card front.
