Lavender Fields Hexagons Bee Card Patterned Paper & Die Cuts

Make an easy card using patterned paper, hexagon dies, flowers die-cuts and a bee.

Hello everyone. Here is a quick and easy card project made using patterned paper, hexagon dies, lavender flower die-cuts and the cutest little bee. I kept this one simple with a mix of papers, sweet die-cuts and chipboard stickers by Spellbinders Paper Arts. To make this, I mixed products from the Lavender Fields Collection with Simple Stories and from the Breakfast In Bed with Rosie's Studio Collection. I focused on die-cutting, ink blending and patterned paper layering. The project supplies are included below. As always, use what you have to make similar cards.

Helpful Tips:

  1. Precut and score a horizontal card base 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" from white Colorwheel cardstock.

  2. Die-cut the hexagon frame, flowers and the bee from Simple Vintage Lavender Fields Hexagon Etched Dies from color cardstock. Cut the wings from vellum paper.

  3. Adhere the white and beeswax hexagons together.

  4. Die-cut and assemble the flowers and the bee.

  5. Using a paper trimmer, cut two strips of coordinating patterned paper from the 6x6 Paper Pad Breakfast In Bed, then ink blend around each strip. I used crossword puzzle and diamond papers in shades of yellow, black and white.

  6. Frame each paper strip with raven cardstock, then layer and adhere the panels to make a horizontal card background.

  7. Add a sentiment from Rosie's Studio Breakfast in Bed Chipboard Stickers.

  8. Top with the layered hexagons, flowers and the assembled bee.

Next, have a look at the finished card.
Sentiment: Find time for the simple things.
