Holiday Roses Cards ~ Betterpress Press Plate + Glimmer Hot Foiling

Welcome. For today, I created two Christmas and holiday greeting cards from one background Betterpress letterpress press plate and one stencil set. The background is a beauty all its own. However, I decided to get two-for-one cards from this pretty rose background. As a bonus, I added shimmer using the Glimmer hot foil system with rainbow hot foil. It glimmers so much better in person.

Here is one card with a Season's Greetings gold hot foil sentiment.

Helpful Tips:

In summary, prepare your die-cutting machine and preheat your hot foil machine. Also, prepare two A2 sized card bases 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded. Next, onto a preheated Glimmer machine, layer the rose background press plate face up with a trimmed piece of hot foil facing the plate (pretty side to pretty side). Then place the cardstock panel over the foil. Once the timer is finished, sandwich between your Glimmer plates and any necessary shims. Next, slowly press the heated A2-sized cardstock panel through a compatible die-cutting machine forward and backward. Then, safely remove the plates and the foil. For color, use the coordinating rose stencil to color the roses, berries and leaves using small detail blending brushes and distress ink pads. You will have one completed rose panel. To make two cards, trim the rose background in half in a wonky diagonal pattern using a paper trimmer or die-cut. Also, foil, die-cut and then layer the holiday sentiments. Finally, trim two sparkly paper borders for diagonal accents and layer both cards and sentiments, to finish.
** Note: Betterpress press plates can be used in the Glimmer Hot Foil System. However, hot foil plates are not for use in the Betterpress Letterpress system. Reference manufacturer guidelines. **

And, this is another card using the very same rose press plate panel with a Merry Christmas sentiment.
