Autumn Inspired Hot Foil Gilded Weave Card Tutorial ~ Glimmer Of The Month September 2025

Add deep richness to backgrounds with dark cardstock and hot foiling.

Hi there. Welcome to my blog. Add deep richness to greeting card backgrounds with dark cardstock and hot foiling. Today is the opening of new signups for the monthly kit clubs at Spellbinders Paper Arts. I detail more about the clubs below. But first, today's project incorporates the Glimmer Hot Foil of the Month for September 2025. It includes a brand new Autumn inspired hot foil Gilded Weave background plate, sentiments, plus a hot foil roll. I also added fern leaves and background layering dies from items that I have on hand. See the full supply list and a short video linked below. This hot foil background works with many occasions and celebrations.

Please note, the Spellbinders subscription sign-up window will now open on the 6th of each month and close on the 27th (once existing club members' subscriptions have been processed.) If there is additional inventory remaining, then they will be made available for new subscriptions and will have limited availability.

~ For this project, I used the September 2025 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club.

~ Learn about all of the different Club Kits available at Spellbinders.

~ To get them all in the monthly deluxe box at 60% savings, grab The Deluxe Caboodle. Included clubs:

  • Die Cutting (3 options)

  • Hot Foiling

  • Stamping (+ Die)

  • Embossing (2 options)

  • BetterPress

  • Wax Sealing

  • Stenciling

Helpful Tips:

  1. Preheat the Glimmer Hot Foil System platform.

  2. Precut and score a white card base.

  3. Trim an oversized smooth dark brown cardstock panel for foiling prep.

  4. Hot foil onto the brown cardstock using the gilded weave Glimmer plate and a large piece of the copper hot foil roll.

  5. If you want a Halloween theme, hot foil the glimmer sentiment plates. (I used a premade cardstock sentiment.)

  6. Die-cut or trim the foiled brown cardstock panel into a rectangle approximately 4" x 5 1/4".

  7. Die-cut the red scalloped layer for a card frame.

  8. Die-cut and assemble the leaf elements in gold and red treasured cardstock.

  9. Layer and adhere the elements to the card front.
